Consumed by guilt and haunted by the memory of her recently deceased lover, a French Inspector bonds with the husband of a murdered American woman, leading her into a labyrinth of international conspiracy where nothing is what it seems.

TONE

"The Penrose Affair" is a psychological / action thriller reminiscent of the classic films of Polanski, Hitchcock and Nolan that combine exciting visual story telling with complex emotional characters as they navigate their internal and external world. A classic movie for a modern audience.

A Neo-noir experience set in Paris against a backdrop of turmoil and confusion that represents the current state of world affairs. The Penrose Affair is a personal journey of discovery as each character navigates the labyrinth of life that sometimes leads to and unexpected conclusion.

THE GOAL

To challenge and entertain. An inclusive cinematic experience that pulls the audience into a familiar world with more questions than answer driven by the interpersonal relationship of complex and emotional characters.

THE CREATIVE TEAM

Origo Studios is Hungary's premiere movie studio, with over 50 major productions in its 12 years; including "Blade Runner", "Dune" and "Poor Things". Their partnership is key to the success of "The Penrose Affair" and to achieving the creative vision.

ParTak Productions is an American based film production company with multiple projects in development in France and Eastern Europe. As the creative force behind the screenplay we are committed to the integrity and creative vision of the project. We have assembled a team we believe is the perfect combination to bring “The Penrose Affair” to life.

Riahi + Brunet, a Paris-based law firm specializing in facilitating global co-productions. We are working with Karine Riahi and Julien Brunet.

Principal photography is scheduled to take place in France and Hungary in 2024.

We believe that it is essential that all aspects of life resume as we come out of the worldwide tragedy of Covid but the safety of the actors, crew and all involved will take precedent. We will be flexible but persistent and will work within the new guidelines for safety. We will consult with industry professionals who have already begun the process of making movies in the new world to protect the people that dedicate their lives to the creative process.
